…AT THE MOVIES
Vanguard had a problem—they were the most reputable investment banking company in the US, but their advertising had become staid. Then, a unique opportunity arose… hark! Creative freedom. Vanguard let us do whatever we want (within reason) as long as we made people laugh and connect with the brand. The end solution was a parody of genre movies, which are a whole other kind of staid… but it worked. In fact, it worked so well that this campaign won a Midas Gold Award, and Geico somehow used the same concept two years later. Funny how that happens.
